- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup margarine or butter, softened
- 1 1/2 cup tap vanilla
- 1 1/4 cup flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 cup chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 1 egg
- 1 cup oats
- 1/2 tsp salt
Preheat oven to 350F Ub a large bowl, combine sugars, nargarine, shortening, vanilla and eggs, mix together well. Stir in flour, soda, salt and mix well. Stir in Chocolate chips and mix well. Drop by tspfuls onto an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake for 8 - 10 minutes or until golden brown. Remove immediately from cookie sheet onto cooling racks. Makes 48 cookies.

Add egg and vanilla, beating 1 minute or until thoroughly blended. Combine flour, salt and baking soda. Add to creamed mixture gradually, beating on low speed 1 minute, or just until blended. Stir in chocolate chips and pecans* (if desired omit pecans and replace with 1/2 cup chocolate chips). Drop dough by heaping spoonfuls (2 tbsp) on ungreased baking sheet leaving about 3" between cookies. Bake at 375F for 8 to 10 minutes. Cookies will appear moist when baked. Cool 2 minutes, then remove to cooling rack.

Drop dough by teaspoonfuls on ungreased baking sheet. Bake about 8 minutes. Cookies will still appear soft and moist when baked, but firm up on cooling. Cool 2 minutes, then remove to cooling rack. Makes about 6 dozen cookies.

Cook in preheated 325F oven for 8 minutes. Don't overbake. Delicious with confectioner's sugar put on warm cookies.
