Glazed Popcorn Recipe

Glazed Popcorn Recipe

  • 8 cups popped popcorn
  • 3 tbsps light corn syrup
  • 1 pkg (4 servings size) any flavor jello
  • 1/4 cup butter or margarine
  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar

   Place popcorn in a large bowl. Heat butter and syrup in a small saucepan over low heat. Stir in brown sugar and gelatin and bring to a boil over medium heat. Reduce heat and simmer 5 minutes. Pour syrup immediately over popcorn tossing to coat well. Spread popcorn on aluminum foil lined 15 x10 x1 inch pan, using two forks to spread evenly. Bake in 300F oven for 10 minutes. Cool. Remove from pan and break in small pieces. Store in an airtight container.

Cinnamon Twirls Recipe

*Pastry

  • Roll pastry into a large circle, brush on lots of butter or margarine, on entire surface of circle. Sprinkle generous amounts of cinnamon onto butter or margarine. Sprinkle generous amounts of brown sugar on top of cinnamom. Roll up tight then cut into thick slices, lay flat on bottom of pie plate(s). Bake at 350F for 20 minutes.

  • 100 small marshmellows
  • 1 cup walnuts
  • 2 squares melted semi-sweet chocolate
  • 1 cup icing sugar
  • 1 egg beaten
  • 1 tbsp butter

Mix marshmellow, icing sugar, and walnuts. Add egg. Melt chocolate and butter together and add to mixture. Roll in coconut and shape into a log. Cool slice. May be pressed in a pan and cut into squares.

Angel Gingerbread Recipe

  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tsp baking soda
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup boiling water
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup molasses
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup melted crisco
  • pinch of salt

In a large bowl, beat eggs until light. Add sugar, beat. In a small bowl, add of baking soda to cup molasses. Mix with spoon until soda is dissolved. In another bowl, mix together flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, and ginger. Pour molasses mixture into egg mixture. Mix. Add melted crisco and pinch of salt. Mix. Add boiling water. Mix well. Pour into a greased and floured long loaf pan. Bake at 350F for approximently 40 minutes.

Banana Bread Recipe

  • 1 3/4 cups flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp baking soda
  • 1/3 cup shortening or margarine
  • 2/3 cups sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2/3 cups mashed banana

Sift together flour, soda, salt, and baking powder. In another bowl, cream shortening and sugar, slowly beat in eggs. Stir in dry ingredients alternately with mashed banana. Stir well. Grease pans (muffin or loaf). Preheat oven to 350F. Bake loaffor 70 minutes or until nice and brown. Muffins bake for approximently 20 minutes.

Peppermint Bars Recipe

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1/2 tsp peppermint extract
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 squares unsweetened chocolate

Melt butter and chocolate; remove from heat, add beaten eggs and beat well. Add sugar, peppermint, flour and salt. Beat well. Pour into greased 9 x 9 inch pan. Bake at 350F for 20 minutes. Cool.

Combine 1 cup icing sugar with 2 heaping tbsp butter and mix until smooth. Add 1 tbso milk, 1 tsp peppermint extract and a few drops green food coloring. Spread over base.

Melt together 3 squares semi-sweet chocolate with 3 tbsp butter and drizzle over icing.

Filling:

  • 8 large ripe apples
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 cup raisins

Crumble

  • 2 1/2 cups oatmeal
  • 1 1/2 cups brown sugar
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 cup butter or margarine, (softened)

Peel apples, slice 1/2 inch thick. Put in a sauce pan with cinnamon and sugar. Cook over medium heat 15 minutes. Mix crumble ingredients together in a bowl. Press 1/2 of the mixture into a 9 x 13 inch ungreased pan. Press down firmly. Pour apple mixture over top. Spoon remaining crumble mixture over the top. Bake 30 to 40 minutes. May be frozen.

Apple Crisp Recipe

  • 3/4 cups brown sugar
  • 3/4 cups quick rolled oats
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup soft butter
  • 3/4 cups flour
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • 6 - 8  medium size apples
  • 1/4 cup water

Peel and core apples. Cut them into 8 wedges. Add 1 tsp lemon juice if apples are not tart. Place in 8 x 8 inch pan and sprinkle with water

Mix rest of ingredients in a bow with hands until crumbly. Sprinkle on top of apple wedges and pat down gently. Make sure scrisp goes to edges. Bake at 350F for 30 to 40 minutes or until crisp is golden brown. Serve warm or cool with ice cream.

Lemon Bars Recipe

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/2 cup icing sugar
  • 1 cup butter

Pack in a 13 x 9 inch pan. Bake 20 minutes at 350F. Let it cool.

  • 4 eggs
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 6 tbsp lemon juice
  • 4 tbsp flour

Mix all ingredients together and pour over crust. Bake 25 minutes at 350F. Sift icing sugar over top immediately.

  • 1 box graham crackers
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup butter
  • blanched sliced almonds

Grease 8 x 14 inch cookie sheet. Line with graham crackers. Sprinkle with sliced almonds to cover. Melt butter in saucepan. Add brown sugar and boil for 3 minutes while stirring constantly. Remove from heat and pour over almonds. Bake at 350F for 8 minutes until bubbling. Remove from oven and cut while warm.

  • 2 cupos quick cooking oats
  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine
  • 1/2 cup semi sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup peanut butter

In a medium bowl, combine oats, brown sugar, butter or margarine and honey. Microwave on high for 4 1/2 to 5 1/2 minutes, or until bubbly. stirring two times. Spread in an 8 x 8 inch baking dish. cool.

In a small bowl combine chocolate chips and peanut butter. Microwave on high for 1 to 1 1/2 minutes, or until chips are soft, stirring once. Stir and spread over oatmeal base. Cool. Cut into 16 squares, about 2 inches each.

  • 2 3/4 cups flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 1/4 cups brown sugar
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts
  • 2 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 2/3 cups shortening
  • 1 pkg small semi-sweet chocolate chips

In a large bow mix together flour, salt, baking powder, chopped nuts and chocolate chips. In a mixing bowl, beat shortening, brown sugar and eggs, mix for about 2 minutes. Add the dry ingredients and mix together thoroughly by hand. Spread into greased medium size pan. Bake at 350F for about 30 - 45 minutes depending on oven. Cut into squares and cool.

Crust:

  • 1 cup margarine
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 cups brown sugar
  • 2 tsps vanilla
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 2 cups oatmeal (opt)

Cream together margarine and sugar. Mix in eggs and vanilla. Stir in flour, baking soda and salt. Add oatmeal, if needed. Spread oatmeal mixture on the bottom of a 10 x 13 inch cookie sheet.

Topping:

  • 12 oz pkg chocolate chips
  • 2 tbsp butter or margarine
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts
  • 15 oz can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp vanilla

In microwave melt all of the above ingredients together. Cover the oatmeal crush with melted chocolate mixture. Bake at 325F for 15 minutes. Let cool.

Topping:

  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup smooth peanut butter
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup corn syrup
  • 7 cups rice Krispies

In a saucepan over medium heat, combine sugar and corn syrup. Bring to boil for 5 minutes stirring constantly. Remove from heat, Stir in peanut butter and mix well. Stir in rice krispies and chocolate chips. Press into a 9 x 12 inch buttered pan. Refrigerate until firm. Cut into squares.

Peanut Butter Oatmeal Bars Recipe

  • 2/3 cup flour
  • 1/8 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp baking soda
  • 3 tbsp shortening
  • 1 tbsp milk
  • 1/4 cup quick cooking oats
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 1/4 cup peanut butter
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • Peanut Butter Icing

In a large bowl, mix together flour, sugar, soda and salt. Cut in peanut butter and shortening at the same time with a pastry cutter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. In a seperate bowl, beat egg and add milk and vanilla, add to the flour mixture, add oats and mix well. Spread into lightly greased 8 x 8 inch pan. Bake at 375F for 12 to 15 minutes. Cool. Spread with Peanut Butter Icing. Cut into bars. Makes 24.

Peanut Butter Icing:

  • 3/4 cup cicing sugar
  • 1 tbsp softened butter or margarine
  • 1 tbsp peanut butter
  • Milk

Mix together icing sugar, butter or margarine and peanut butter. Blend in enough milk (2 - 3 tsp) until frosting is of spreading consistency. Dip knife in hot water to spread easier.

These brownies are lower in fat because of the use of cocoa and egg whites.

  • 1/2 cup margarine (soft)
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 4 egg whites

  • 1 tsp vanilla

In a bowl, beat egg whites until they are white and hold shape. In another bowl, using an electric mixer, beat margarine and sugar until light and creamy. Beat in flour, cocoa, baking powder and vanilla. Fol beaten egg whites into cocoa mixture until blended. Pour into a greased and floured 8 inch baking pan. Bake at 325F for 20 to 25 minutes. Top should be slightly under baked in the middle and firm on the dedges. Cool completely and cut into squares.

Note: Do not overbake, brownies should be moist and chewy.

  • 1 cup peanut butter

  • 2 cups sugar
  • 6 tbsp cocoa
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 1 cup shredded coconut
  • 2 cups quaker instant oats

In a large saucepan, combine sugar, cocoa, butter and milk, bring to a boil. Add vanilla. Remove from heat and stir in coconut and oats. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto wax paper, chill. Makes about 4 1/2 dozen.
