Old Fashioned Pancakes Recipe

Old Fashioned Pancakes Recipe

  • 1/2 cup wheat germ
  • 2 cups whole wheat flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 1/2 to 3 cups milk
  • 2 tbsp oil

Stir together all the dry ingredients with a fork. Beat the eggs slightly and combine with the milk; then add to the dry ingredients and stir briefly. Stir in the oil with a few strokes. Heat the griddle but do not grease it. It should be hot enough so that when you sprinkle water drops on the surface, they dance. Pour the batter onto the griddle by large spoonfuls. Cook over medium heat, turning once when bubbles come to the surface and pop and the edges are slightly dry.
