Cocoa Brownies Recipe

These brownies are lower in fat because of the use of cocoa and egg whites.

  • 1/2 cup margarine (soft)
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 4 egg whites
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup cocoa
  • 1 tsp vanilla

In a bowl, beat egg whites until they are white and hold shape. In another bowl, using an electric mixer, beat margarine and sugar until light and creamy. Beat in flour, cocoa, baking powder and vanilla. Fol beaten egg whites into cocoa mixture until blended. Pour into a greased and floured 8 inch baking pan. Bake at 325F for 20 to 25 minutes. Top should be slightly under baked in the middle and firm on the dedges. Cool completely and cut into squares.
