Oatmeal Cookies Recipe

• 1 cup shortening
• 1 cup brown sugar
• 1 egg
• 1/2 tsp vanilla
• 2 1/2 cups oatmeal
• 1 cup flour
• 1/2 tsp baking soda
• 1/2 tsp salt

Cream together shortening & brown sugar, add eggs & beat, Add vanilla & oatmeal, work in well with fork or hands, add flour, salt & baking soda, mix well. Drop by tspfuls onto cookie sheet. Press very thin with fork. Bake at 375F until golden brown.
