Sugar Cookies Recipe

• 3/4 cup shortening, marg or butter
• 1 cup sugar
• 2 eggs
• 1 tsp vanilla
• 2 1/2 cups flour
• 1 tsp baking powder
• 1 tsp salt

Mix together shortening, sugar, eggs and vanilla, slowly blend in flour, baking soda & salt. *Cover dough and chill for one hour. Heat oven to 400F. Roll dough to 1/8 inch thick on lightly floured surgace. Cut into desired shapes. Bake on ungreased cookie sheet for 6 - 8 minutes or until lightly browned. Sprinkle with sugar. Makes 4 dozen - 3 inch cookies.
